Health and Medical

A physician and nurse are on each ship to provide medical care and services at customary charges. Commonly used medications are kept on board and may be purchased at the office of the ship's doctor. Dramamine, Meclazine, Alka-Seltzer and aspirin are available free at the Purser's Desk.

All charges for medical services will be billed to the guests' onboard account.

Services: The level of medical care is very basic. Basic blood tests, urinalysis, pregnancy and glucose tests can be provided. Also basic studies, like EKGs, X-rays, minor laceration suturing, and applying casts can be performed. There is a fairly well equipped pharmacy with the most common prescription medications. Any serious medical condition will require an evacuation. Medical Personnel are "on call" 24 hours a day for emergencies.

Location/Time: Formal office hours are held twice daily. Office hours may differ from ship to ship and often begin earlier on port days to allow guests to be seen before going ashore. Morning hours will last two and one-half hours, with the first one and one-half hours for guests and the last hour for crew. Afternoon hours will be for three to three and a half hours, with guest visits first, followed by crew. On embarkation/debarkation days, only afternoon office hours will be held.

Children's Programs and Policies

The Kid's Crew program onboard offers fun, supervised, age-appropriate activities for children between 2-17 years old. Children under 2 are not accepted into the program.

Activities are flexible and subject to change based on participants. Children are assigned to a group based on their age at sailing. If they have a birthday during the sailing, only then they are moved up. Please note that NCL does not allow children to switch age groups.

Juniors (ages 2-5):  Storytelling, painting, developmental activities, arts and crafts, treasure hunt, age-specific games, and family activities

First Mates (ages 6-9):  Children's pool area, pizza making party, games, parties, crafts & classes, computer games, age-specific games, and family activities

Navigators (ages 10-12):  Wii, sports activities, team-building challenges, parties, arts & crafts, video arcade, computer games, scavenger hunt, and family activities

Teens (ages 13-17):  Teen dance club, teen dinner, sports activities, wii, movies, parties, video arcade, computer games, and team-building challenges

Important: Youth staff are not able to change diapers or pull-ups, but we leave parents with a beeper or handy phone to alert them to do the duty. Beepers and handy phones do not work ashore, so at least one parent will have to stay onboard when their children are in our Youth Program.
